Spell Penetration

Spell Penetration is an attribute that describes an ability to bypass magical defenses. It is expressed as a percent chance for any given attack that the attack will ignore any given magical defense applicable.

For example:

• You attack an enemy with a cold iron longsword, which has 25% Spell Penetration.
• The enemy is protected by a Power Word: Shield spell.
• You roll 23%, and successfully bypass the spell. The enemy cannot apply Power Word: Shield to this particular attack.
• The enemy is also protected by Sanctuary.
• You roll 79%, and fail to penetrate. Therefore, Sanctuary applies to the attack.
